Final thoughts on Buffestalo '09

Wow. Buffestalo '09 once again exceeded our expectations, which is to say that everyone that attended brought it. Nice work people. That was some good stuff. It took us the better part of a week to de-festalo, but damn, that was worth it. Just wanted to express our thanks to all of you - I won't name names at the risk of leaving someone out, but if you played something, sang something, filmed something, painted something, acted in something, edited something, built something, cooked something, cleaned something, danced something (?), or simply drank something, we applaud you and thank you.

Since Buffestalo '09 was (mostly) injury and damage free we are feeling good about moving forward with Buffestalo '10. Darby tells me I more than adequately expressed the Buffestalo Mission Statement over the course of my intoxicated ramblings on the mic, so I know you all get the deal. Clearly. We have already discussed many ideas for improvements next year, both in entertainment and management, and we'll work them out and announce them - or not - as appropriate at a later date.

We would also like to solicit feedback from you, the Buffestalo-goers, however. Feel free to post comments on this blog, respond to the email thread, or reach out to Darby or me directly. We wanna hear what you think, what you liked and didn't like, what your ideas are for the evolution of the 'festalo, and what else you think we should do.

We love Buffestalo and we love you. Thanks.

  2. As always, a GREAT time. It took me nearly 4 days to feel "rested" and back to normal, and it was all totally worth it. THANK YOU so much! Going forward, we should think about how to incorporate our little calves into this event...perhaps a "Kidfestalo" during the day, with clowns, face painting, water balloons, donkeys, a mini roller coaster, some funnel cakes...and hired babysitters!

  3. This is -hands down fucking flat on the table- the highlight of my summer despite the fact that my birthday is less than two weeks later. I almost feel sad for my d.o.b. knowing the shadow of the 'Lo looms so large o'er it. Thank you Dave and Darby and Avery.

  5. A note from the 'lesser known Putman...Michele":

It's early 2010 and I am busy planning my travel schedule...so I must ask, are the dates in stone yet? I see that the 4th is on a Sunday, so can I safely assume party festivities will begin on the 2nd and end on the 5th? Booyah the 'festalo!
